FCD released a state-level version of the CWI for the first time in January 2012. The STATE CWI assesses, compares and ranks child well-being in each state. The STATE CWI is also the first to measure the relationships between child well-being and selected economic, demographic and policy measures at the state level. Higher state taxes and larger investments in selected public policies were correlated with higher child well-being across states. FCD plans to release an updated version of the STATE CWI in the future.
