In partnership with the Foundation for Child Development, the Ray Marshall Center for the Study of Human Resources, in the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin, is leading a Dual-Generation Strategy Initiative. The goals of the project are to improve the understanding of dual-generation strategies among policymakers, researchers, and funders, as well as to foster the implementation of dual-generation strategies at the federal and state levels, and to evaluate their outcomes on both children and their families.

Christopher T. King with Tara C. Smith and Robert W. Glover have compiled a Research Brief which outlines the Dual-Generation Strategy in terms of conceptual framework, opportunities, and implementation challenges. The brief also recommends future policy, programs and research that will support the growing field. Read the brief here.

The researcher’s next goal is to work with policymakers, practitioners and other researchers who are fostering Dual-Generation Strategy to organize the strategy agenda and to identify specific opportunities for piloting Dual-Generation initiatives.
