Walter Giles

Walter K. Giles joined Beck, Mack & Oliver as an associate on September 1, 1998 and was admitted to the partnership in December, 1999. Founded in 1931, Beck, Mack & Oliver is an investment counselor managing approximately $4 billion in assets on behalf of individuals, trusts, tax-exempt institutions, and corporations. The firm today has six investment professionals and a 22 person administrative staff.

From March 1993 to 1998, Mr. Giles was the financial services analyst in the investment division at the Ford Foundation. He entered the investment business in June 1987 as an analyst at Peter B. Cannell & Co. Prior to that position, he was the Researcher at INNOVATION, a national science TV show produced by WNET public television.

Giles received a BA in economics from Lehigh University in 1983. He graduated as a member of the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst. In addition to his work with the Foundation for Child Development, he is a trustee of the Boys’ Club of New York.
